Switchify Remote privacy policy
Last updated: August 21, 2026.
Switchify Remote controls a computer that you pair over Bluetooth. It has no account, advertising, analytics, telemetry, or cloud sync. Switchify does not collect data from the app.
Data the app handles
Bluetooth discovery and pairing
The app uses Bluetooth Low Energy to find computers running Switchify PC. You choose a computer, compare the pairing code, and approve the connection on that computer. The app stores the computer identifier, display name, and pairing credential on your device so it can reconnect.
The app also generates a random Remote device identifier. It stores this identifier in secure device storage and sends it only to the paired computer during pairing and authenticated commands. The paired computer uses it to identify the Remote installation. Switchify does not receive it.
Commands and typed text
Mouse, typing, window, and forwarding commands go directly over Bluetooth to the computer you paired. Typed text is sent only when you choose to send it or enable live typing. Switchify does not receive or cloud-sync these commands or text.
In draft mode, the app saves up to 2,000 characters of draft text on your device. A draft remains there until it is sent successfully, you clear it, or you clear the app's data or uninstall the app. Live typing is not saved as a draft.
Preferences and diagnostics
Preferences stay on your device. The app also keeps a bounded in-memory record of sanitized connection activity to help you troubleshoot. The activity record disappears when the app process ends. Diagnostics do not include typed text, control commands, pairing credentials, or authentication proofs. Copying diagnostics puts the sanitized text on the system clipboard. Exporting writes a sanitized text file to the app's cache and opens the system share sheet. Switchify does not receive either copy.
What Switchify collects or shares
Switchify Remote does not collect or share personal or sensitive user data with Switchify or a third party. It does not contain advertising, analytics, crash reporting, remote logging, accounts, purchases, or cloud storage.
Storage and deletion
- Pairing credentials and the Remote device identifier use the operating system's secure device storage.
- Unpairing removes that computer's saved pairing credential and computer record. It does not reset the Remote device identifier.
- On Android, uninstalling removes the secure pairing data. On iOS, Keychain data can persist after uninstall and return if you reinstall the app with the same bundle identifier. Unpair computers before uninstalling on iOS if you want their saved credentials removed.
- Preferences and draft text remain until you change or clear them, clear the app's data, or uninstall the app.
- The in-app diagnostic activity list lasts only for the current app process. An exported cache file can remain until the app overwrites it, the operating system clears the cache, you clear the app's data, or you uninstall the app. Any shared copy then follows the retention controls of the destination you choose. Clipboard copies follow the operating system's clipboard controls.
- Switchify has no Remote account or cloud record to delete.
Security
Pairing requires approval on the computer. Remote commands use the saved pairing credential and the authenticated Switchify protocol. The app does not expose pairing credentials in diagnostics or user-visible errors.
Permissions
Switchify Remote asks for Bluetooth access to find, pair with, and reconnect to Switchify PC. It does not request the Android Advertising ID.
Children's privacy
Switchify Remote is not directed at children under 13, and Switchify does not knowingly collect personal information from children through the app.
